A Surfrider Membership is a meaningful gift that supports Surfrider’s mission and spreads the love for our oceans.
Customer Testimonial:
“My nephew just wrote to me that he got the membership gifted from me and he says: "Awesome gift. This is so meaningful to me. Thank you." He’s a surfer and I knew he would value the work you do. So I wanted to pass that onto you. We have a lot to be thankful for this Earth Weekend and every day. A lot we can do, a lot to be grateful for. Thank you Surfrider!”
– Kara, who gifted in honor of Earth Day

Yes, there are four privacy settings you can choose from in Golden. The most commonly used setting is "Open" this will allow more people to discover and sign up for your opportunity.
As you move through the options to have more privacy it requires a little more work on your end to make your opportunity accessible.
For example "Private-Open" makes your opportunity unlisted. Only those who have created a Golden account can find it at: https://volunteer.surfrider.org/ . You can create a group and those in the group will be able to see it. You can share the link via email, social media, etc and those you have access to the link can sign up.
Learn more about privacy settings here.
Sharing your opportunities is key for maximizing volunteer sign-ups. Watch this quick video to learn how to share individual opportunities.
To share multiple opportunities at one time you can use a share all open opportunities link. You can also display your Golden opportunities on your website

If you don't have the chance to use the Check-in Kiosk, you can confirm volunteer attendance after the fact in the Dashboard (either using the Overview tasks or in the Opportunity Detail Page.
The check-in kiosk is a tool you can launch on any device (laptop, phone, tablet, etc.), just be sure that the device you're using is up to date with the latest software updates, and that you do not have a pop-up blocker enabled.
To launch the Check-in Kiosk, open a web browser on your device (The Golden App is not used for organizers).
Login to the Dashboard dashboard.goldenvolunteer.com
